Hahahah.. I never know that there is such thing as ‘Lad Lit’.
‘Chic Lit’ focuses on 20’s and 30’s women who are dealing with that time in life when a woman looks for the perfect guy, apartment, job or, yes, shoe. Along the way these women question everything from the way they were raised to the quality of their lives. The characters typically are either self-deprecating or overly analytical. And so, do you know that the book in which focuses on male characters is called ‘Lad Lit’? I didn’t know it, until today.
As M put it, no one ever knows what is ‘Lad Lit’ but only some crazy gal who probably thinks that there’s not enough of ‘Chic Lit’ storybooks or perhaps, she’s just bored with ‘Chic Lit’ and now just going for something different, goes and search for something like ‘Lad Lit’.
Well, what can I say? People tend to change and tend to move on after certain period, rite? So, I am just those people who think that she is ready to read some other genre other than the normal, Chic Lit, Romance to Lad Lit, Men’s Fiction.
I don’t know what got into me. First, I started to go crazy with this blog thingy and now, I suddenly want to read and read lots and lots of books every single day. Actually, I can’t really find the time to read but do you know what I did? Everyday, I will head office very early and once I parked my car, I will turn off the engine, turn on my FM radio handphone, put both legs together up on the car seat and start reading my book. Heheh.. so, the reading time would differ, sometimes when I am very early I will get to read for half an hour otherwise, it would just be for a few minutes but still, it was the most nicest time of the day for me. At least, I got a leisurely@relaxing time for myself.
Heheh.. I kind of got out of topic here, huh! Anyways, yupp.. I think, I am going to try and read more of ‘Lad Lit’ now. These are a few of the books I would much be interested in at this stage:
1.A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon
2.One for My Baby by Tony Parsons
3.Man and Wife by Tony Parsons
4.In Your Dreams by Tom Holt
5.The Portable Door by Tom Holt
6.Please, Daddy, No : A Boy Betrayed by Stuart Howarth
It is surely nice to read from a different angle and perspective, ain’t it? So, Selamat Berbuka Puasa to all and sesapa yang ada buku cerita nih, maybe boleh kasi I pinjam kejap ker? Heheh..
Have a nice weekend!!! Adios…
