As usual, I never run out of work. If only, Microsoft Outlook has emotions and able to speak up, it probably will say, “Hey, can you please like stop sending emails for a while. I have already got enough on my plate.” You know what I mean..?
Anyways, a friend of mine is coming down all the way from Zimbabwe and transiting in Singapore for one night before heading back to KL. And so, I have promised to meet up with him for dinner.
However, yesterday, the more I tried to run away from my hectic job, the more tickets and request that I get. I am like, what is this? I was in the midst of finishing the tickets when my phone rang.
At the other end : Hey, are you going to be quick, coz we are already here?
Me : Oh! Ok. I’ll be going off soon.
Without finishing it, I just shutdown my lap top and pack my stuff. I mean, hello! I will still have to work back in the hotel, right? So, having dinner should be fine ;).
And so, I took a cab to Chai Chee Seafood Restaurant. One thing about Singapore, they have very friendly cab drivers. They would not be mad at you, even if you do not know where is the place that you are going to, the taxi driver was like really patient with me. He was saying something like, it’s ok, we’ll go slowly and we look it out together for the restaurant. Finally, I reached the place.
The moment I got out from the cab, I saw a soft-guy waving his hands to me. Yes, it’s him, it’s definitely him. It’s Devrin Anak Jeck, people! I have not seen him for ages. Gosh! He looks fabulous! :D
He was there with his two friends, a married couple, Ju and An. They work for the Malaysian Ambassador in Singapore. So, it was like a day out for me with the governments and since, they are getting like a pay raise, and so, yes! The dinner is definitely on them! Fooh!!! GReattttt!!!
Apparently, they have ordered and since, Devrin longed to have good food, so he did all the orderings. He ordered, was it chilli crab, butter prawn, shark fin soup and kang kung belacan. I thought, there’s another dish but I cannot remember.
Anyways, we had a nice conversation but of course, since we are in front of both, Ju and hubby, me and Devrin, we have to like control our language if you know what I mean. I know!! Devrin just can’t wait to spill up some stuff and so, do I! But, I supposed, it all have to wait till I get the chance to only BE with him. Heheh..
And so, after the very fulfilling dinner, they offered to send me back to my hotel. How sweet! Thanks, guys!!!
They came up to my room for a while since Devrin had to go to the toilet. We ended up chatting for a while before they left for Mustaffa Center.
Although it was a short one, but it is sure a memorable one because I got free dinner… hahahaha… *evil me*
So Devrin, let me know when you are coming again and will definitely do another dinner. This time, it will probably be on me? No..!! You? Or we will just let Ju and hubby spend us again… ;).
Oklah, need to get back to work. Once work’s done, I am out of here.
