Wani's Birthday Celebration

If it’s not because of the b***** t*n** very poor services, I would have updated my blog last weekend. Anyways, better late than never and might as well, I just write it down while it is still fresh in my head ;).

Last Friday was Wani’s birthday, my ex-housemate in Singapore. It’s an ex because I only rented and stayed at the house for a month. Anyways, each time I am in Singapore, I never miss having dinner with her when time permits.

She’s a great friend. Although, we did not hit it off immediately. (Remember the first time we met Wani?) You were in so much stress that you looked so serious and fierce. Heheh..

It’s the second time, I saw her that she actually smiled to me. Smile, in the very friendly way. She then, asked for my number so that we could have dinner one of the days and I wouldn’t miss it for the world since I don’t have much friend either.

She text me the next day, she asked me out for dinner Saturday night and if possible, she would want me to bring along a friend. It’s so much coincidental that I needed to buy Jason Wallet dinner, the guy who found my wallet in the bus, since I carelessly dropped it. And, as for her, she needs to buy Vegas a dinner because of some modem thingy that I cannot remember. All in all, we were fated, man! Destiny had brought us together.

Anyways, from that time, we always text or call each other and it finally end up that I became her housemate.

It does not take us long to be really close and within minutes she knows my entire story and I know hers. And plus, we sort of have shared the same hobby, now! We both like photography and blogging and reading books too ;).

She is very determined, strong willed and the most intelligent, brainy and hardworking fellow, I have ever known. She was born with high tolerance, charismatic and a touch of sense of humor.

And today, as in Friday, 25 May 2007, she celebrated her birthday. I think, I would not disclose her age, heheh.. since I am not quite sure whether it should be a secret or not ;).

Few days earlier she reminded me to make myself free on Friday so that we could have dinner and movie. I was so afraid that I might disappoint her due to my workload. However, thank god that Friday when I was supposed to be on standby till 8pm, suddenly my very understanding boss said that I could leave at 7pm. I rushed quickly to meet up with her.

We had dinner at Bali Thai in Tampines Mall. Both of us are big eater and, believe me we did not eat dinner, but we feast ourselves by ordering 5 dishes. We ordered tahu telur, kang kung belacan, thai pad prik (fried fish coated with special thai chilli sauce), ayam panggang bali and tom yam seafood. Wani had coconut drink and I had home-made barley. Our indulgence costs SGD70.70. hahah… serious giler, kan?

The tummy was luxuriously filled and so, we continued with our next event of the day. We watched a movie called NEXT, starred by Nicholas Cage, Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel.

Well, I would say that the movie was not that bad although the ending was sort of an anti-climax? But, I don’t quite like Nicholas Cage in this movie. I think he looks very thin. I am not good in movie reviews and I don’t intend to do so. So, let’s just stop here on that! Hehe..

We took the same cab to go home and funny that the ‘pakcik’ a.k.a cab driver thought that I was local (Singaporean) and work in N** P*** Hotel @ P********. No wonder he asked me, am I working night shift? Hehe.. but, the ‘secret’ burst out when he asked me, where do I stay, is it Tampines? So, I shyly told him, I actually stayed in the Hotel. Then, the conversation starts all over again, by him asking, where am I from, what do I do here until him telling me the story of how-he-came-to-Singapore-and-that-he-is-from-Malacca.

So, I guess that’s about it on how I spend my Friday in Singapore!
