Gauche

Remember about the phone interview I was talking about the other day? Well, it didn’t happen the day that it was supposed to, but it does happened 3 days later. My headhunter reminded me to do some studying because according to him, there’s a guy who had 7 years of experience but he failed the first interview.

To be frank, I was myself a bit ‘kan cheong’. The interview was at 6:30pm and I was waiting patiently in my car, out of my office. It was raining heavily. I was worried if I wouldn’t be able to even hear him clearly. I didn’t know what to prepare but I did look through my training notes just incase ;).

Finally, my phone rang. I was nervous. The interviewer started asking questions. Gosh! I find it hard to understand him. I said, ‘sorry’, ‘what is it again?’ most of the time. I told the interviewer that it is rather difficult for me to explain on the phone. He totally understood, I mean he always does this, rite? All are technical questions. I am glad because I could answer most of it. But, of course I told him truthfully that I didn’t do much of scripts and MaxL. There’s no point of trying to answer when I know nothing about it, rite?

He did not even give me the chance to ask him about the job and so forth. He ended the conversation by telling me that he will get the HR to call me immediately and that was it.

I am just so confuse. I really don’t know my status. I called up Kane, my headhunter and told him about the whole thing. According to Kane, well that should be a good thing. Hopefully!

The next day, I got a call from Kane. From his voice, I could guess that it is happy news, straightaway I asked him, ‘So, what can I help you with?’. ‘Well, you can help me with going for the second interview in Cyberjaya.’ Woohoo!!! I am pleased with myself.

I have a small problem though. I didn’t have anymore leaves to take. Reason being, I am keeping the 4 days leave that I have for Raya Haji. Hmm.. do you think I should??? Yupp, I took an MC. Hahaha.. MC is another different story, will elaborate more on that later.

Anyhow, first I had to meet up with Kane and he will bring me to the office because the building is next to each other. I was there 10 minutes early. I had to wait for the HR. I looked around. The place looks nice ;).

~Another confusing moment
The HR came in and introduced herself. Then, it was my turn to talk about myself and my experiences. She did asked the expected questions in which is how come I was only in A** for 2 months and why am I moving again when, I was just about to confirm myself in F*****.

Well, everything is just complicated. I supposed I am just trying my best to accommodate myself and my family with my career. Our priorities now are our kids. Thus, we are looking for a place that has all the facilities needed for my darling daughters.

Somehow, we find it that living in Cyberjaya area would be the best place knowing that we have found a kindergarten for my kids, as well as we know that there is a government primary and secondary school in Putrajaya. Plus, my hubby is currently working in Dengkil and that explains the whole reason of why I should find myself a job there too!!!

Back to my story, next the HR was asking about my salary. I told her about my current and what I would get once I am confirmed and thus, anything more than that would be great! She actually added extra RM200 out of it. Yeay!

I then asked her about the benefits. She did not explain much but it is enough to make myself glitter. The medical benefits covered the whole family including spouse and there is also maternity package. I may be required to travel in my work but if it were to be less than 3 months, I probably can come back a few times depending on the duration and if it were to be more than 3 months, the company would provide me the ticket and visa(if needed) for the entire family. Nice, ain’t? The office hour is 9-6, but they are very flexible, again depending on the reporting manager.

After all the questions and explanations, I had nothing else to say. She finally ended it with a, ‘Will do the fitments on your salary and we will get back to you with the offer’. I was like, did I hear that right?

I stupidly asked her, ‘When would I be able to know the results?’. She looked at me and surprisingly, she said ‘Actually, in a way you are already selected’.

I was dumbfounded. But, she added that she will need to call my references before preparing the documents. She also wanted me to come over next week to meet up with the BI/DW managers.

She then walked me out and she brought me around the office. Showing me the 2 wings, the pantry, the meeting room, conference room and telling me more about the company and on how big it’s going to expand next year!

So, the confusing part was definitely, does that mean, I got it???? The current situation that I am being is something like, when a guy showed that he likes you but somehow you needed him to say it out, so then you would know for sure that he likes you. Well, this is definitely similar. I need a verbal or best, a black and white on it! Gosh! I don’t want to put my hopes too high though, coz what if???

So, I guess the only thing that I can do now is just, sit tight, pray hard and let GOD do the rest of it! I have done my part!!

Alhamdulillah. Whatever it is, I thank GOD.
