It was bright and sunny day. She just finishes her prayers and she’s on her way back to her office. She was walking towards the lift when she saw a familiar face standing, waiting for it too! She finally said, “Hey! I haven’t seen you for long.” The guy nodded in agreement.
“It’s all because of you. You didn’t want to give me your number.” He challenged. She replied him with a smile. The lift opens and they both went in.
From the look at his eyes, he does not look satisfied. He cannot keep it to himself and he needs to know.
“Is it because you already have a boyfriend?” He urges. She didn’t know what to say. She was quiet for a while until she decided to tell him the truth.
“Nope. It is not that. Actually, I am married.” She gave in. He was shocked. He did not believe a single word that she said.
“No. You must be joking.” He continues. She beamed and shakes her head hard.
“Serious. I am married.” She retorts. He still gave her the I-don’t-believe-you-look.
“So, how long?” He demanded.
“Long. Very long.” She answered. “How old do you think I am?” She then asked.
“25?” he said and she burst into laughter. She thanked him for to-her it was a compliment, reason being she was 5 years older than that? Anyways, she didn’t want him to feel awkward, she kept the conversation going.
“Too bad, I’m late.” He said softly and she can barely hear it. She smiled and gave him and understanding-and-it’s-ok-look. He gave her his number so that she could still call him and to conclude the whole thing, they exchanged names.
